One thing I enjoy doing is people-watching. As I’m sitting here in the corner of the airport terminal waiting for my plane to arrive, I find inspiration in my writing by watching other people. Some call it stalking; some just think it’s weird. Honestly, I don’t give a flying you know what other people think, all I know is my outlook on life has become more diverse by people watching; and perfected my eavesdropping skills.
Airport Watching
So, I figured today would be a good day to do some people-watching and write about the things I saw. So, these are my field notes while observing the people around me for the past 15 minutes of sitting in the
corner of the airport waiting for my flight to arrive.
45 out of the approximately 60 people sitting around me are on their cell phones
- 40 out of those 45 people are also on a tablet and/or laptop
- 1 out of those 40 people is definitely listening to death metal, or possibly opera I’m not quite sure…
- There’s one girl who looks homeless, but I still like her shoes
- About 15 men are wearing hideous sweatpants and Nike shocks
- One woman is eating ice cream…at 10 am …in the morning…
- 4 people are reading books; the guy next to me is reading one entitled… “Life” (That’s an original title)
- Everyone but one woman has a carry-on bag that is either black, gray, or dark blue. Hers is bright pink. And she’s wearing a shirt that says, “Stunning with my click.” She also looks about 45 years old. She’s possibly the fliest bitch here.
- 26 people drinking coffee. Including myself
- There are about 10 people wearing hats indoors.
- And there’s one guy with dreads with a tie-dye shirt on. GROOVY.
I’d say this is sure to be a promising flight.
With Love,
