The Traditional New Years Resolution

The Traditional New Years Resolution

Well, we did it! Without blowing each other up, getting attacked by aliens or having a zombie apocalypse, we survived another year. And with 2014 now coming to an end, we are eagerly about to ring in the New Year, but not without making those traditional New Years resolutions.

I personally don’t get it. The New Years resolution. Why should January 1st of whatever year it is, be the start of the resolution you are aiming to accomplish? Is it because there are exactly 364 more days from that date, or perhaps it’s because it’s a New Year so it’s going to be a “New You?”

The reason I wanted to write about this today is that for the last week as I have watched my FaceBook feed, I have noticed so so so many people posting about their New Years resolutions, and so many of them are the same thing. It made me wonder, should my resolution be to pick up an addiction I can drop next year, put on a few pounds so I can go on a diet, or maybe start cursing more so I can “swear” never to in 2016.

Whatever your New Years resolution maybe, I wish you luck while on your journey, and may 2015 be what you make of it. Remember, the new year will be as amazing as you allow it to be, so keep that positive energy up, and you will go so very far. With anything, you wish to accomplish that is.

As for me, I’m thinking this year I’m going to choose the workout resolution. I figure it will last about two weeks, then I’ll go back to eating McDonald’s and watching daytime television.

Hey, we all can’t stick to giving up Big Macs. Those things are golden. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

With Love,

Lex Paige
