I thoroughly enjoy baking. I think it is because I am addicted to sweets and have a passion for creation, which is why I tried my hand at conjuring up my very own homemade Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies today.
I mean what else is better to do on a rainy Sunday? So, since they turned out so tasty, I wanted to share my recipe with all of you! These cookies are simple to make, are great breakfast or anytime treats, and even make for a good little snack for the ones you love. Please be aware this recipe contains nuts for you allergic folks.
Ingredients (I made 34 cookies with this recipe)
- 1 Cup of Softened Butter
- 1 Cup of Light Brown Sugar
- ½ of White Sugar
- 2 Eggs
- 2 Teaspoons of Vanilla Extract
- 1 ¼ Cups of All-Purpose Flour
- ½ Teaspoon of Baking Soda (I got Baking Soda…Baking Soda)
- 1 Teaspoon Salt
- 3 Cups of Cooking Oats
- 1 Cup of Chopped Walnuts
- 1 Cup of Ghirardelli Semisweet Chocolate Chips
First, I preheated the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Then while that worked its wonders, I got to mixing. You begin by grabbing yourself a large bowl and mixing the butter, brown sugar, and white sugar, and once mixed add in your two eggs. Then add in your vanilla extra, making sure all the ingredients are smoothly blended before proceeding with your soon-to-be delicious creation. The next step is going to be to mix in your walnuts, Ghirardelli chocolate chips, and oats. Once your ingredients are all blended grab an ice cream scooper and drop dollops onto baking sheets. You then bake for 13 minutes in the preheated oven and once you take them out let cool for 5 minutes and they are ready to devour.
These cookies ended up being a sweet success for me, let me know how yours turn out!
With Love,
Lex Paige
