Every year on December 31st no matter what year it may be, people wait anxiously for the start of a new year and with that reflect on the year that is to pass.
For me, last year on December 31st, 2015, I thought about how interesting it would be to relive each day of my 2016 in a popular craze; the selfie. So, every day since January 1st, 2016 with the help of the ever-prominent smartphone application SnapChat, I captured a photo of myself, tracked it, and filed away my memory of who I was on that very day.
And what did I learn from this whole process you ask? Well, for one, a year does change a lot. From everything to our hair, the way we dress, the friends we lose, ones we keep. The new memories we make, and the bad mistakes we make too. A year of my life was full of new beginnings, the closing of old doors, an obnoxious array of Snapchat filters, and most importantly the love from all my family, friends, and strangers in passing.
And with that…now, 366 days later (I got lucky with a leap year) I present to the world, my year of 2016 and all that it encompassed. (Brace yourself though…it’s a good 8 minutes long)
