It’s tax-filing season (Urg) and that means if you’re like me, you want the best ways to file your taxes online to get back the money you deserve. But with so many different online tax filing options, it can be a bit overwhelming what’s the best tax filing fit for you.
So, to make life a little less complicated, I have compiled three of my online tax filing suggestions to make this rather challenging process a bit easier this tax season.
Making the process of doing your taxes smart and simple, 1040.com has three easy steps to get your taxes done right. With an easy interview asking you basics about your family life, deductions, and health information; 1040.com is a simplistic online filling program that was my number one choice last year when doing my tax return. You can file both your federal and state taxes all at once, and they guarantee the biggest state refund and 100% accurate state calculations. This program did cost me $10 to file with (Big Spender) but
A lot of people don’t know this, but you can use this free tax preparation software to file your federal taxes for free online! What’s awesome about this is Free File does all the hard work for you with brand-name software and/or Free File Fillable Form and all you need is an email address, and your tax info and you are good to go. If you rather file in person this site also features contact information for local tax offices and will recommend various tax software based on your current finances.
Just like 1040.com, TurboTax starts to prepare your taxes with a step-by-step process that is very easy to use. TurboTax operates deductions as well, so you can get the maximum refund you deserve. This year, I am leaning towards trying this program just because I have a vast amount of deductions I want to be sure are accounted for. Plus, TurboTax has the Absolute Zero policy; meaning you pay absolutely nothing to file your taxes—from start to finish if you made less than 100K, and don’t own a home or rental property. Didn’t sell investments, don’t own a business or have a 1099 income, and don’t have major medical expenses.
