Why We ALL Need Some Nature in Our Lives

Why We ALL Need Some Nature in Our Lives

With all the hustle and bustle of life, nature is a means of escape for me which I am forever thankful for. Ever since I was a little kid, spending time outdoors has been a simple joy for me, which I continue to do this day. More so than often actually, embracing nature has been something more fluent in my adult life, which got me thinking as to why. So after much pondering on why we all need a nature escape, I managed to muster up some reasons why I believe we all need some nature in our lives.

1. Refocus & Recharge

With work and personal life, sometimes things can seem to drift out of focus. Spending time outdoors both with a simple walk in the park, an afternoon hike, or even just taking a ten-minute sit on your porch can drastically increase your lack of focus and recharge your mental health.  It’s amazing to me how just being outside alongside nature can energize our minds, which is why I often venture out on my own on nature adventures.

2. You Get Back in Touch with You

Being about to experience the beauty of nature hands-on takes you away from the materialistic elements with infuse our lives. Mirrors, makeup, television, the internet, etc., etc. nature allows us to tune into ourselves once again and remember who we truly are as individuals. Being comfortable in your skin is something I am a big supporter of and the peace and tranquility of nature bring out the true you.

3. Relaxing in Nature Impacts Your Overall Well-being

Our lives get too crazy, and stressful and nature is an incredible way to just sit back and relax. Relaxing in nature soothes, heals, and restores our centers, which in return makes our overall sense of well-being pleasant and significantly increases our moods. The International Community for Ecopsychology says, “Ecopsychology explores the synergistic relationship between personal health and well-being and the health and well-being of our home, the Earth.”

Point blank you get pure synergy. One of my favorite ways of relaxing in nature is with water because there is something so calming about the sound, sight, and touch of it. Every moment I’ve spent sitting under a waterfall, letting all my inhibitions, fears, stress, and just the chaos of life wash away. And let me tell you, it’s a truly beautiful thing.

4. Just to Get Away

Point blank, getting away for a little is just good for you. We have so much chaos in our everyday lives, that being about to get away and embrace nature and our world is something so simple we have the beautiful gift of being able to do. Climbing a mountain, wandering in a river, or whatever activity in nature you choose to do will fade the craziness of our culture.

So go and get out there and enjoy nature. I promise you won’t regret it.

With Love,

Lex Paige
