Makeup makes me happy. I love it. My friends will often poke fun at me actually, because I have a whole tuber ware full of eyeshadows, eyeliners, brushes, and of course lipstick. Since I like to stay up to date on the latest beauty trends, when a friend from back home in Jersey asked me to review a NEW product she sells called LipSense, I was immediately intrigued.
What is LipSense?
A long-lasting lipstick and gloss, LipSense is different from other lipsticks in that it is highly durable – lasting up to 18 hours and staying on through eating, drinking, kissing, exercising, swimming, etc. This product is vegan, GMO-free, wax-free, gluten-free, lead-free, and NOT TESTED on animals!
I received my LipSense Kit from Pretty as a Rose, an independent distributor of the product with a clear description of the product, how to use it, a thank you note, a LipSense color (Beige Champagne), LipSense Gloss and Ooops remover, and a precious little bag to hold my products in as well.
HOW TO APPLY!
Step 1: Clean Your Lips with witch hazel or a warm rag to get rid of excess makeup, food, drinks, toxins, etc.
Step 2: Apply three coats of the LipSense in one direction. Shake before applying for even distribution and let each coat dry for 10+ seconds before applying each additional coat.
Step 3: Apply LipSense gloss over your entire LipSense color to seal it in. Then you are done!
The Lex Paige Reaction
After using this product I have to say it does work. I was a little bit worried about my lips getting chapped after using the product because some long-lasting lipsticks can do so, but this product does the exact opposite. When I first put the product on (All in the same direction I must add as directed) I am not going to lie there was a bit of a tingle. However, after speaking with my LipSense sales rep (Nicole) she let me know that the tingle is 100% normal as the product is exfoliating your lips and preparing them for the color to molecularly bond. The product has alcohol in it (Which has a strong smell) but that acetone smell does disappear. My lips after using the LipSense about five times my lips felt smoother and healthier.
I liked wearing the LipSense without the gloss added. I enjoyed the matte look that lasted a good 11 hours without fading. When I was ready to take my makeup off at the end of the day, I needed the oops remover (Which I didn’t like the smell/aftertaste of at all) because this lipstick was not coming off without it. I did feel pretty wearing it, it lasted hours for me and it truly was an Impeccable lipstick.
LipSense is highly affordable, selling at $25 for one color, and $20 for gloss, and I recommend getting a tube of lipstick remover for $10 as well. There are a bunch of different colors to choose from (Which is why I had Nicole surprise me with one) so it’s best to pick from a color chart online (there’s 50+ to choose from) to see what will work for you. Needless to say, if you love lipstick or just trying out new makeup in general, you are going to want to give LipSense a try. This lipstick isn’t going anywhere!
