I love some body art. However, I do not have any. Why? I do not like needles and I am a very indecisive person. Meaning, I’m not sure what I would like permanently engraved on my skin for the rest of my life. Luckily, I found an alternative option to embrace my love for body art; Inkbox.
How it Works: Inkbox is a temporary tattoo, but looks exactly like a real tattoo and lasts 2-3 weeks. Created with an organic formula, painless, and easy to apply.
When you receive your Inkbox tattoo kit, you will have everything you need inside to make some magic happen. I say magic because the way this stuff works is mind-blowing to me comes in a kit with everything you need to apply at home. You start by peeling off the white backing, wiping it with the alcohol wipe, and then placing it on your skin.
Next, you remove the other side to reveal the ink take the special cloth you microwave for 15 seconds, and press it hard onto the Inkbox area for 30 seconds. Keep applying firm pressure for 15 minutes after that. Once the 15 minutes are up, remove the tattoo, let fully dry, and wash it with soap and water. Once you have peeled the tattoo off your skin, you won’t see anything, that is because it takes 24-36 hours for the ink to fully develop. There is a fully detailed how-to video on the Inkbox website I suggest you watch as well.
The Lex Paige Reaction: The tattoo I decided to get was the Ohana. I chose this artwork because I have a special bond with elephants because of my mother and loved the beautiful simplicity of this piece. (Inkbox has over 400 pre-made designs for you to choose from) I received my Inkbox package after two weeks of purchasing, which is a sense that seemed longer than most things you order nowadays, but keep in mind the company does handmake all the artwork. The box came with all the supplies needed, including instructions, gloves, your wipe, cloth, and of course tattoo.
When it was time to put on the tattoo, I am not going to lie, it was a little overwhelming during the process. Possibly because I didn’t want to mess it up, but there are quite a few instructions you have to follow and you must follow them correctly. I won’t go into much detail since you can see clearly from their online video how the process works.
After I was done and washed the area I put the tattoo lightly, I could certainly see a very faint picture of my new temporary bad decision. When I woke up, the tattoo had gained color. After a total of 36 hours (Shown Below) my tattoo was 100% developed and looked like the real thing. As I went about my day, I had a bunch of my coworkers and friends commenting on my tattoo and asking when I got it and how much it “hurt” which was quite entertaining as well.
In the end, I liked my Inkbox tattoo and I would certainly try it again. Not only was it fun to experiment with the kit, but I liked how I could express myself without having to deal with the anxiety about having something permanently stuck on my skin.
