Happy Death Day: Advance Showing Review

Happy Death Day: Advance Showing Review

Thanks to Universal Pictures and Blumhouse Productions, I was able to see a special advance showing of the movie Happy Death Day last night and besides the rather annoying child that happened to sit next to me, it was pretty good. For your typical comedic PG-13 slasher flick, this movie covers it all.

Following the life of a sorority girl who relived the day of her murder, I truly enjoyed the film’s comedic relief and suspense elements. With some unexpected twists and turns, this film keeps the viewer guessing until the end, however, I must say I figured it out before the killer was revealed.

One thing I must comment on is the portrayal of sorority girls. Being in a sorority myself, the movie is super stereotypical in the way it showcases how Greek life is. I wasn’t offended because it’s funny to me since I lived through it for real, but for those of you who weren’t a part of Greek Life,  keep in mind you can’t always believe what you see in films. I did appreciate the Groundhog Day reference at the end too and the simplicity of the killer’s costume.

With Love,
