It’s that time of the year again! Yes, it’s the Carolina Renaissance Festival! This past weekend I was able to take a step into the 16th century and experience the 2017 Carolina Renaissance Festival. Full of delicious foods, entertainment galore, and non-stop fun; for only a $25 entry fee, you can travel back in time to the greatest Fair-haven of them all.
I and my partner in crime attended the greatest party since Camelot got ourselves some beer, and a giant turkey leg, and headed to jousting once we arrived. This time around, it wasn’t crowded at all (which was fantastic) and we were able to get seats right in front of their 2:30 pm show! Sadly our knight lost (Boo) but it was still loads of fun with the crowd’s energy cheering him on.
After, we made our way to my favorite part, the petting zoo! Right next door to the knight’s arena is the free petting zoo filled with friendly animals galore! Baby pigs, cows, llamas, and goats; you also have the option to purchase feed for the animals which I was quite happy doing too. We then made our way to the shops and people-watching (there’s a ton) and I got myself a refreshing fruit smoothie. We met a talking tree, a man with an adorable goose and lion bunny, and then we finished our day with some roasted almonds which I am currently eating as we speak.
Overall, it was a fun-filled day. With crafts, games, rides, feasting and so much more; you don’t want to miss the Carolina Renaissance Festival. So dress up like you are a part of the cast of Game of Thrones and get your ticket today. Huzzah!
