Father and Daughter Take On The Beer, Bourbon, & Barbecue Festival in Charlotte

If you love some good drinks, live music, and BBQ, then you needed to be at the Beer, Bourbon, and Bar-B-Que this past weekend. The 14th annual event took place at the Bank of America Stadium South Entrance parking lot on March 7th from 12 pm-6 pm and boy was it DELICIOUS. My father and I attended the event and I am excited to share our amazing experience with all of you! From whiskey tasting to enjoying a bourbon cigar, this event was one of the best I’ve yet to attend in Charlotte.

Beer, Bourbon, & Barbecue Festival

When we arrived at noon, the line was not long at all (with a VIP ticket) and we received a sampling cup and dinner plate ticket. There were more than forty different bourbons and sixty different beers/seltzers to try as well as tons of barbecue available for purchase. With our dinner plate ticket, we received pulled pork, hush puppies, mac n cheese, ribs, and beans from The Redneck Bubba. It was so good I don’t even know how to describe it. After we chatted with some other festival attendees while eating, we made our rounds and sampled tons of great beers and bourbons both local and out of state.

One of the things I liked about this festival was that you could bring in your own “nonalcoholic beverages” and snacks for the day. We saved money by bringing our water and pretzels thanks to this festival privilege. I also enjoyed how there were games you could play like cornhole and giant beer pong to take a break from all the drinking. One of the most interesting samples I had was a 40-proof soaked pickle. It was quite tasty and maybe a bit dangerous…

Overall, I must say purchasing the VIP ticket is 100% worth it for the amount of food, early access, and no line sampling you can enjoy. I can positively say, that next year when the festival is around, we are hoping to attend to make this a yearly father-daughter tradition.
