Quote of the day, “Feed Me Tacos and Tell Me I’m Pretty.” It’s beginning to look a lot like tacos…with lots of cheese everywhere. But really, it’s time for a taco talk! This past weekend in Raleigh, North Carolina my significant other attended the 2021 Tacos ‘N Taps Festival. Tacos and Mexican food were on the menu at this festival featuring beer and tequila that you could try at your leisure. Besides live music, there were margaritas, contests, and fun.
This festival, due to the pandemic was postponed a few times. We held onto our tickets and were preparing to party like a guac star. (Sorry too many taco puns to skip) We had VIP tickets, which included an additional hour of tastings, four taco tickets, a souvenir glass and sombrero, access to the event, and other fun perks.
How It Went
When we arrived at the festival (promptly at noon) there was a line out the door. It was cool at this time, but the festival was held on the pavement. As much as I wanted to go to the festival later, I think it would have been too hot if we had not gotten VIP tickets. We got our sombreros, taco tickets, a bandana, and sampling glasses when we walked in. Checked out the list of places to eat and listened to the cool mariachi band. Next, it was time to inhale the tacos and exhale negativity. At the festival, we had at least 15 taco spots to choose from, and the beer filled us up so much that we could only eat three of them. We snagged a steak, chicken, and chicken skewer taco during our time. I was happy there were some seltzers to try too. You can see the tacos we enjoyed in my photo gallery below.
We didn’t stay long enough to see the games and contests, but I would have certainly enjoyed hitting the llama pinata. Overall I think this festival was spectacular and a great break from the workweek. I would go to this event again but next time I would bring some sunscreen.
