Planning a move soon? If so, you might need some tips to utilize during your next move to make it much easier and less stressful for you. Nobody likes moving, but if you make it less stressful, you will have a better experience and you will be able to take the time to soak in the joys of a new home! Here are some of my best tips!
Pack everything ahead of time!
No matter if you are moving next door, or across the country, you cannot wait until the last minute to pack…or you will be in for a very stressful move that might have to be delayed, which will cost you extra money, time, and a lot of stress. Trust me – a move is already stressful enough without having to pack everything up at the very last minute. Packing everything (or almost everything) in boxes makes the process of moving everything from your apartment/home so much easier for you (or your movers). It also makes organizing the moving truck so much more efficient! If you have way too many things, you might want to look into having a garage sale, donating a lot of items, or booking junk removers ahead of your moving day because you do not want to have to pack and then unpack junk if you are not going to use it in the long run!
Don’t work out the days before your move!
If you are moving, you have to be mindful of the fact that you will be lifting heavy furniture…yourself. With that being said, do not push it too hard in the gym the days before the move or you might have to fight weak and painful arms or legs. My friend recently made this mistake this week – she is moving in a couple of days and just did a killer arm workout today. We’ll see how she ends up doing, but I have a feeling that she will be very, very sore during and especially after the move.
Save time and effort with College Dudes Help U Move!
As we have already talked about, moving is very time-consuming and it takes a lot of effort. With that being said, personally, I believe that hiring movers is so worth it. Sure, it’ll cost you some money, but your time and the effort that it will save you is huge! If you are in NC like me, College Dudes Help U Move are residential movers, commercial movers, and hot tub movers in Charlotte NC. They are a team of local, hard-working movers who understand the passion and commitment that it takes to execute a move of any size.
With a laser focus on customer service, safety, and technology they bring the most competitive pricing and reliable moving solutions to the North Carolina community. Unlike other movers, they take the time to listen to your needs, wants, and concerns, and then they problem-solve to make sure that your expectations are not only met but also exceeded. I highly recommend getting professional movers for the day of your move!
Do not overdo it!
If you are moving, it is important to note that moving trucks move slower on the road compared to your normal vehicle. Plus, moving, in general, is just time-consuming and requires a lot of effort. It usually always takes longer than you anticipate. Another thing to be mindful of is the fact that since you are operating a larger vehicle, you need to be safe. There’s nothing worse than being tired, hungry, and a danger to yourself and others on the road just because you tried to cram too many packing, lifting, and driving hours into each day. Don’t overdo it: you do not have to do it all at once.
Schedule enough time!
On the same note as not overdoing it (super important), it is important to schedule more than enough time for your move. This includes scheduling time to pack, load the truck, and make the move. Moving is exhausting and stressful, but allowing yourself plenty of time to complete the process eases the stress level a smidge (really a lot).
I hope these tips are helpful for your next move! Did I miss anything?! Share any tips you have in the comments below! And if you take one thing away from this post it should be that the money spent on hiring a professional moving team, such as College Dudes Help U Move, is money very well spent!
